Peace in Ukriane?

There might be an end in sight to the Ukriane-Russia war.

It could have been avoided if NATO had given Russia a written guarantee that Ukraine would be join the alliance.  Now, we have three plus years of warfare in Europe on a scale we have not seen since the Second World War.

Trump appears to have a general desire to end the war.  Now, will the shadowy figures in the background let the profits of continued war vanish?

Ukraine will not be able to push Russia out and Russia will not conquer Ukraine.  The most obvious solution to this war might be to keep the lines in place and move on.

Will Zelensky agree to his.  His martial law declarations continue ad infinitum  and as long as there is a war, he remains in power.  Arms dealers and "aid" will continue as long as the war continues.  If Ukraine--and by that I mean "Zelensky"--refused to give up any land, the war contiues.

With NATO building up to fight a "Russian threat," that means there is more weapons money landing in everyone hands.  And this "Russian threat" can't seem to knock out Ukraine.

Lots of fertilizer out there.

After the Alaska meeting between Trump and Putin, there is optimism.  Ideally, the US and Ukraine, along with some European leaders, will meet in DC to finalize a peace deal.  Then they will have the meeting between Trump, Putin, and Zelensy, possibly in Turkey, who gets along with both sides, or in DC again to get closer to an agreement.  The final announcement would come in a Trump visit to the Kremlin.

Will it play out this way?

All we can do is watch and wait.
