Pearl Harbor Day!

On December 7, 1941, the Japanese hit Pearl Harbor and crippled the US Pacific Fleet.  Our carriers were not there and the Japanese Imperial Navy called off the third wave of attackers that would have surely targeted to oil stockpiles.  Meanwhile over 2400 Americans died.

Incidents like Pearl Harbor show us why America needs to be vigilant and not forget events like this.  It is kind of hard though when it was over 80 years ago.  Even 9/11 was twenty years about and it seems like that has faded from immediate memory.  Such is human nature.

I read that where were only 12 survivors left from Pearl Harbor.  It is sad but inevitable.  After all, there are no Civil War or Peloponnesian War veterans out there.  The lessons remain though.

The attack galvanized Americans in a way that they had not been united since the Civil War.  The aftermath of 9/11 seems to bear a close resemblance to that.

It is a shame the nation is not that united today, but maybe it can happen without a major attack and though a sharing of shared values, not something imposed by out-of-touch Hollywood or DC elites.  Their version of reality, if you want to call it that, can never work.  Why?  Because it is based on lies and no one believes it...even the mindless college kids who try to shout in support of it.

It simply is not real.

The lesson of Pearl Harbor?

Vigilance and unity.

Not easy.  Never was, but it can be done.

A little act of kindness every day adds up!
